13 Pomeworth St, Stoneham, Mass., January 3, 1932. Dear Folks, Weren't you surprised and glad to have Doris come up? It helps to break up the long, tedious winter to have her come at this time. I was rather expecting her to call up, after I got your letters saying she was coming. Consequently I knew her voice at once when she did telephone. I think I wrote you that Lula, my brother's wife, was working in a Christian Science place out in Chestnut Hill. I wanted her to come out here for Christmas, but she had to work. Then I thought she could come New Year's, but whether I made a mistake in setting the day or what happened, I don't know, but anyway when I finally got her letter late in the week she said she would come Saturday, - get here about twelve. She would also have to go back at night as she had to be at work at eight Sunday morning, that is, this morning. Then when it stormed so badly yesterday, she called up, and I told her not to try to come, that it would not be wise, but to come whenever
