Transcription
of said freedmen or women about his premises, and to charge for any extra rations or other things for [[?]], any one of said freedmen or women at his or her request, said freemen or women not to run about at night from home unless by permission of said Singleton or his agent, not to gamble, swear or use vulgar language, not fight among themselves, but to refer all difficulties arising between them, to said Singleton, or his agent, said freedman and women to have no power to find said Singleton for any thing contracted for or purchased by them, except upon his written order, nor is he to answer for any charge, demand, or expense, outside of this agreement; no live stock to be raised by them unless by special permission of said Singleton. In the division of the crop falling to them each to take according to his or her classification as hands in this agreement unless there shall be drawbacks, fines or forfeitures, as stated above. In order to avoid all misunderstanding, the freedmen and women who are parties to this agreement are hereby classified, and in said division No 2 is to receive three fourths as much as No 1, No 3 and half as much as No 1, and No 4 one fourth as much as No 1.
