Beaufort. S.C. July 28" 1866 Genl R.K. Scott. Asst. Commissioner. Sir. Your letter of the 26" instant has been received in which you state that you have been informed that no action has been taken in relation to certain Plantations on the main land and in reply I have the honor to state that a letter of directions from you was handed to me on the Evening of the 24" Inst, by a Mr Fuller directing me to visit the Plantations of Mr Elliot Mr. Scriven, & Mr Shobheart. and enforce Paragraph 1. & 2. of Genl Order No. 9 on the 25. I made all nescessary preperations and on the 26" I visited the above mentioned Plantations with a detachment of soldiers and fulfilled your directions I have the honor to be Genl very Respect= Your Obedient Servt J.S. Power Lieut V.R.C. & ASA CFB
