Dear Major - Yours informing me of the success of my application for school house for freedmen duly rec'd. I have succeeded in obtaining from McIntyre one acre on one of the principal streets which I think will be just the location Lumber can be procured as soon as we get some rains to start the mills for about $12 or $15 pr M Carpenters wages are from 1 50 to $2 pr day - A State connects with this place from Jacksonboro Depot for T Chas R.R. You can probably get a conveyance from Georgia Station which is more convenient for you - Let me know a few days
