Selma Ala Sir The Asst Commissioner directs that you forward, without delay, to this office, a General Report of the operations of the Bureau in your Sub-District from the 1st" day of January 1867 to 31st" inst. This Report should show a general summary of the work of your office with remarks as to the working of the labor system, apprentice law, Poor law, system of taxation, and other laws affecting the freedmen. Particular report should be made as to the action of the Probate Judges under General Order No 3 - current series - from this office. Report should also be made as to the general condition of the freedmen's Schools the feeling apparently existing between the two races, the increase or decrease in complaints of outrage and injustice, with all other matters affecting the people placed in the charge of the Bureau. A similar report will hereafter be made for each month, and forwarded not later than the 5" of the following month. Very Respectfully Your obdt Servt O.D.
