Notes on Transcribing this page (optional)
Beardon's letter is 1. on pg. 11 of letters. When you see a capital letter in front of a number, that means go to letters with last name starting with that letter, then look for that number. For instance: Bunker W.H. says "M5" - so go to the letters where last names start with an "M" - here it is on transcription pg. 219, and look for letter #5. He is listed there in the letter. If there are other names or initials listed next to letter numbers in third column, that is another person with the same last name.
This section can be used to communicate any questions or concerns to Smithsonian staff, as well as other volunteers, about this transcription. Do not use to transcribe extraneous notes made by collector or other institutions.
