Captain In accordance with request contained in your endorsement of 12th Ins't I enclose herein the original and the Copies of the order assigning me to duty here Also my vouchers for Commutation for Fuel and Quarters for the month of August. As I am the only officer on duty here, there is no one whom I can ask to certify the enclosed, as true copies, will you please do so and return the original to me. If the vouchers are payable by you will you please send me the money at an early day, if not please sign and return to me and I can Collect the money from Mayor Alden at Charleston S.C. I am Captain Very Respectfully Your Obt Servant Allan Rutherford Captain 44th Inf A.S.A Com 19 264 Bureau R.F. and A.L. Wilmington N. Carolina Sept 17th 1868.
