Judge Johnson--2. In a day or two we will work out some ideas for your keynote speech, stressing the need for united effort, in keeping with t1 suggested them of the convention. I know that you are extremely busy with a thousand and one details to take care of between now and convention time, in addition to your regular job, and this might give you a small lift if we send you some help on your keynote speech. You, of course, would work it over to suit your own ideas, but I find if I have a peg to hang my thoughts on it is often a help, and I thought maybe you would too. I suggest that, if you have the treasurer's report worked out, we have it mineographed [[mimeographed]] and handed out to members. This would save the necessity of making a formal report about the treasury, but we could use it as a peg to hang remarks on about the need of getting some financial basis established to go on. I think one committee you appoint should be charged with studying the question of membership dues, and report a plan to the convention that would be more equitable than the one now in operation; that is, a definite rate for group membership, instead of leaving it now as it is, each group giving what they consider fair. I have had only a few reports from people who will at convention, and for these I am making reservations at the Le Fonde hotel when asked to do so. Has Mr. Dwight been out there and has he found places for delegates to stay beside the LaFonda, which is very expensive, I imagine. Did he reserve a block of the rooms at the La Fonda? I suggest you wire Ruth Kirk, Gallup New Mexico, Sam Akeah, Chairman Navajo Tribal Council, Shiprock New Mexico, Supt. Hagberg, United Pueblo Agency, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alvin Warren, Supt. of Education, United Pueblo Agency, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Abel Paisane, Chairman, all Pueblo Council care of John Rainer, executive Secretary, Box 526 Taos New Mexico (Taos New Mexico [[strikethrough]] O [[/strikethrough]] if [[strikethrough]] [[/strikethrough]] you decide they are to be asked to give the talks suggested, inviting them to do so. They will need as much time as we can give them to prepare. Enclosed is a letter from All Pueblo Council --strikethrough]] in [[/strikethrough]] which is self-explanatory. Do you have any ideas that we can ask them to help ? What about asking them to help us line up rooms in private homes where delegates might stay? Is Mr. Dwight taking care of this? I think perhaps when you have had time to read this all over, it might be well to telephone me if there is anything further in the way of correspondence or other arrangements [[strikethrough]] we [[/strikethrough]] I need to make from this end. Sincerely yours Ruth M. Bronson Secretary
