Personally appeared before me this day Patsey Duvall, who, having been duly sworn diposes and says: My name is Patsey Duvall, I live on Doctor Duvalls farm on Drakes Creek, about 4 miles from Mitchellville Tenn. Two men came to my house it has been 5 months or so, or about the last week in June 1866. One of the men was Richard Pentlo, living about 10 miles from Mitchellville, Tenn, over Drakes Creek. He told me to light the candle. I then did so. He then asked if Jim Warren was in the house and commenced searching for him. He then left, when he could not find him, and said if he was reported he would come back and kill the last God damned Nigger on the place I then heard him say to my husband that he must get his mule and come with him, and if he led him into any stray place, and did not carry him right through, he would kill him first. I said to him that it would be a pity to kill Jim Warren from his children, when he answered back saying that
