[[stamp]] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES [[/stamp]] Washington May 13th 1871 Mrs Elizabeth Grant Madison Morgan Co Georgia Madam: Your letter to the Hon Secy of War asking advice in regard to land transactions with E.M. Thrasher, has been referred to the Commissioner of this Bureau for reply. I am instructed to inform you that your best course, if you can prove that the land has been fully paid for, is to put your case into the hands of some good lawyer, together with all the facts; and authorize him to bring suit and compel E.W. Thrasher to deed you the land Very respectfully Chief Clerk
