Danville Ky Oct 11th 1865 Mr John Ogden Supt Ed and F S, Dear Friend I am happy to be able to say to you that we the colored people of Danville have an Educational Society & its officers who have called Mrs L. Huffman to teach the colored Freed people She came, and Brought another young Lady of color with her as an assistaint We pay twenty five dollars per month & Board Mrs L H & provides all other things We opened our School in the old Presbyterian church & pay three dollars a month for it open Sept 4th with forty seven, inrolled 64.
