Mr. Linton has a brother in Augusta and may be there. -- his agent Ables has probably gone on to Florida with the negroes he has hired. The facts in this case make it almost one of regular "Kidnapping" -- it is clearly a misdemeanor under our Law - for which offence the warrant is drawn, the circumstances of the case have excited the sympathy of our best Citizens, who think the offenders should be brought to justice. If you can thru' your agencies secure the return of the child to her mother, it will be a most humane and kind act, and if you can further secure the arrest of the defendants Able and Linton and have them turned over to the Civil Authorities of this County, you will have done full and complete justice. I write for Isabella Harris, who is illiterate and cannot write for herself.
