3 #33 Ferry Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, April 26th, 1904. Alexander Reid, Esq., Le Societe Des Beaux-Arts, #117 & 121 West George Street, Glasgow, Scotland. My dear Sir:-- Your letter of the 12th instant is received and fully noted. Let me thank you for having given me the information concerning the four examples of Mr. Whistler's work now in your possession. I am to sail for England on the "Oceanic", leaving New York May 4th, and shall go direct to London. Sometime between the 15th and 20th of May I shall visit Edinburgh and Glasgow, and shall then take pleasure in calling upon you. If the Whistler pictures and letters are at that time in your possession, I would like very much indeed to see them. It was my intention to have visited Scotland last summer, but I was detained in London by the illness of friends. Let me thank you for your kind attention to the letter from my friend, Mr. Savidge. Yours very sincerely, Charles L. Freer
