Head Quarters Asst. Comr. Bureau F R and A L Office Supt. Colored Schools. Washington DC. Nov 1st 1865 Bvt. Brig. Gnl. John Eaton USV. Asst. Commissioner Sir, I have the honor to report that the circular issued by your order requesting reports from the colored schools in your District was sent to all the schools as far as known in Washington, Georgetown, Alexandria, and in the Country about these cities. It may be that some have been overlooked. A few of the schools did not commence until the close of Oct. The following is a summary of the reports of these schools for October, so far as received.
