"Copy" Amnesty Oath, under Proclamation of the President of the United States dated May 29th 1865 Fort Smith Arkansas July 10th 1865 I, I.R Kannady of Sebastian County state of Arkansas do solemnly swear in the presence of Almighty God, that I will henceforth faithfully support, protect and defend the constitution of the United States and the Union of States thereunder And that I will in like manner abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of slaves - So help me God J R Kannady Seal Sworn to and subscribed} before me this 10th day} of July A D 1865 } Thomas A Pollok Pro Mar Post of Fort Smith Arks State of Arkansas } County of Sebastian} I James Edmondson Clerk of the Circuit Court of the county of Sebastian, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the Amnesty
