I have the honor to transmit herewith papers in the case of complaint of Martha Jane a Freedwoman against Daniel Stevenson a citizen of Desha County. The papers are as follows -

Letter of Lt Predmore Supt, to Maj Genl Ord.
Deposition of Martha Jane.
Letter of Lt Predmore to Mr Stevenson.
Letter from Self to Hon Jno. A. Williams U.S.C. Com with his endorsement thereon.
Letter (Copy) of instructions to Lt Predmore.

As the case seemed to be one of pressing necessity and on account of the uncertainty of the mails, I sent the instructions of which the enclosed is a copy trusting they would meet the approval of the Assistant Commissioner -
