[[circled]] 54 [[/circled]] May 27, 1965 Farallones Going to work around Korea station again this morning. Starting 5:15 am. Still quite dark. Everything quiet. First diurnal bird sounds (unidentifiable) 5:28 am 6:10. There is a single bird in tree tops here. Quite alone. Looks like some sort of Cotinga. Blackish cap. Orange-ish throat. Apparently pale greenish or greenish yellow below, streaked with dark. Rather sluggish. Silent. Goes from tree to tree 30 - 40 ft up. 6:20 See Quitzal alone. Apparently same individual as yesterday. 6:30 Go for walk thru adjacent forest. Almost immediately come across mixed flock. In tree tops. Difficult to see; [[?]] group certainly includes [[margin]] [[in purple]] IV HO [[/in purple]] [[in red]] Cy [[/in red]] [[in green]] 25 [[/in green]] [[/margin]] [[green check mark]] 1 [[underline]] Chlorospingus canigrilares, [[two green check marks]] [[insert, in purplse]] 2 [[/insert]] 2 Slate-throats, [[green check mark]] [[insert, in purple]] 3 [[/insert]] 1 Cy, [[green check mark]] [[insert, in purple]] 4 [[/insert]] one large-ish tanager which is yellow underneath (almost certainly usual [[underline]] Compsocoma [[/underline]]), and a [[margin, in green]] 31 [[/margin]] variety [[six green check marks]] of vireos [[insert, in purplse]] 5 6 7 [[/insert]] tree creepers, and flycatchers. Sometimes rather scattered, with individuals up to 100 ft apart. Sun shining brilliantly 6:55 am. Reach edge another pasture. See single Sooty Thrush alone. Small tree edge forest. 10 ft up. There see single Yellow-faced Whitestart alone. Another small tree edge. 15 ft up.
