Offers fifteen dollars. [[Footnote 1]] E.B. p.306. 47 July 31st | Allison J.F. Lt & Asst. Supt. [[Footnote 1]] | Rocky Mount, N.C. July 27th 1866. At the request of citizens of Rocky Mount, states that proprietors of liquor saloons of that place, sell liquor to Freedmen on the Sabbath which results in disturbance to the annoyance of good citizens. States that he has been solicited to close the saloons on the Sabbath by virtue of Military Authority, which he declined. Requests to be informed if a military remedy can be provided. One of the girls, whose mother was opposed to her being indentured, has ran away; and Lieut Foote Agt. &c. at Halifax has ordered that she be released from her indentures &c.
