Will accept. Gives military history. Sept. 10^th 68. | Dawes W. J. Lt. 43^d Inf & A. S. A. C. EB p. 91. | Yanceyville, N. C. Sept. 8^th 1868, Requests order to cover the cost of transportation on his trip to Wilton for purposes set forth in the letter of this date. Requests that it be approved & forwarded to Col. Johnson for payment. Sept. 10^th 69. | Dawes W. J. Lt. 43^d Infr A. S. A. C. Sept. 10^th referred Gov. W. W. Holden for information | Yanceyville, Sept. 8^th 1868. States the parties implicated in the assault on the Colored men, have been bound over to appear at Court. Everything is quiet in the County and no additional means are needed to keep good order. Sept. 10^th 71. [[asterisk stamp]] | Dodge C. W. A. S. A. C. Filed. | Mount Vernon N. C. Sept. 5^th 1868 Acknowledges receipt of communication of Aug. 31^st informing him that he has been mustered out of Service also that he may resume duty under Public Act No. 63. Gives P. O. address and says he will remain in the Bureau. | Transferred to letter "J." Feb. 19, 2018-The information needs to be a little bit more legible for us to read and understand. From what I understand that this is not the first letter that was written, they have written several letters from them telling them what needs to be done. I think the months those were written needs to be changed to September because it was not written clearly for others to see and so they can use this as a source.
