States that several inquiries have been made by Freedmen in various parts of his district regarding School Matters and requests to be informed if the Government will assist them as heretofore in establishing Schools &c. Aug 24^th 60 * | Hillebrandt Hugo Agent. Filed | Greensboro, N.C. Aug 21^st 1868. Requests that transportation be furnished for Lucinda Taylor from that place to Salisbury.- Has a cancer and wishes to enter the Hospital at that place. Sept 4th 61. * | Heaton Hon. D. M.C. Sept. 4th Refd to Col. Stephen Moore. Sept 7th recd back. Filed. New Berne N.C. Sept 1st 1868 Gives particulars regarding the destitution existing in and near Dover Station in that Co. Asks for a contribution of 25 Bushels of Corn. & 2. Barrels of Pork for their relief To be sent to Wm F. Laeyo. for distribution. Sept. 8th 62 | Hillebrandt Hugo Agent. Sept. 8th returned Bureau does not furnish transportation for Teachers returning home. | Greensboro N.C. Setember 7th 1868 Makes application for transportation from Greensboro N.C. to Oxford Pa for J. R. [[Neveho?]], & J. S. Thomas, Colored School Teachers. Sept. 12th 63 | Hawley Geo. S. Agent. EB p.92 | Goldsboro, NC. Sept. 11th 1868. Requests permission to visit Raleigh on the 15th and 16th insts , on business Sept. 14^th 64.* | Henderson W.F. Agent. Filed. z.[[small letter on 4th line below "Filed.", appears to be a lowercase, cursive "z"]] | Lexington. NC Sept 10th 1868. States that he cannot accept the Office of Magistrate for the reason that he would have to give up his license to plead at the Bar. Has had W.S. Badget. appointed in his stead.
