Appeals to Gen. Howard for aid for additional facilities for the education of the Colored people. Recommendation to the above of several gentlemen enclosed. March 4 8 *| Jones, W.W. Agent &C. Filed| Statesville N.C. Apr. 3/68 States he was nominated Sheriff on the Republican Ticket and wishes the decision of the Asst. Com^r whether to accept or not. April 2 9*| Johnson J.S. Asst.A for 8th Dist Filed| Abbots Creek, N.C. Mch. 29/68 States that a certain J.J. Martin a noted rebel is misrepresenting false facts to Freedmen to entice them to vote for him for Senate Wishes the matter to be considered. April 21 10| Jones W.W. Agent April 21 Ref^d to Gen^l Scott Asst Comm^r of S.C. E.B p 68.| Statesville N.C. April 13/68 Forwards letter of S.S. Markland who gives itemized account of Benj. Brunner(Col^d) vs N. Kennedy of Lawransville for $182.75 States that said Benj Brunner. & family were employed by said Kennedy for the year 1866 and were compelled to leave SC as they would not get their pay from Kennedy and as Kennedy threatened to shoot them if they presented their account to the Freedmens Bureau for collection. That a Mr. Krouse PM at Lawransville loaned Benj Brunner $55.00 to enable him to come to his former home in NC. Krouse has been able to collect from said Kennedy the money loaned by him But that Benj. Mr. Murkland forwarded an account similar to the within to Col. Edie Comdg. at Lawrensville but has heard nothing from said communication. States that Benj Brunner is poor and has a large family to support and requests that this case receive early attention. April 21 11| Jones W.W. Agent April 21 Ref^d to Col. Wm. Cutter for investigation and report.| Statesville NC April 14 1868 States that Sarah Redice white claims that Sam^l Malbury came to her house in the fall of 67 and took two of her children & is now living with another woman named Tilly Carson col^d. Prays that the children may be restored to her. States that he lives in Rowan Co. near the residence of Dick Johnson on the road from Wilmington to Salisbury.NC. April 25 12*| Johnstin Thos. P. Bvt. Lt. Col. Chief D.O & Q.M. See W.[[??]]5 Filed| Raleigh NC April 17, 1868 Forwards special Requisitions for six Flags and the purchase of horses for Agents. May 2 13.| Jones W.W Agent E.B. p 28| Statesville NC April 29/68 States that Malinda Langheuser[[??]] complains that Jacob Mack migrated from Yadkin Co. NC to Johnston Co. Mo & carried with him her daughter in a secret manner and against her will & one L. C. Idle who now resides in Clay Co. Mo took another daughter. Requests that the Bureau reclaim the children & forward to her at Huntsville NC.

place (presumably in SC) appears to be Lawransville in some places and Lawrensville in another and has been transcribed as it appears. Could be a misspelling of Lawrenceville in all cases.
