Sept 2nd 1868 Makes application to visit Raleigh (for Transportation) on official business Wishes, as his reports have been returned to make a formal explanation, in order to place himself in proper light before the Department as regards his Official acts &c Sept. 5th 28 * | Tupper Revt H. M. Filed. | Raleigh, N.C. Sept. 1st 1868. Petitions the Bureau for the sum of Five-Hundred (500) Dollars. for the purpose of fitting up a Room to be used for a School for Colored Ministers to the City of Raleigh Sept 3d 29. * | Tupper Revt H. M. Filed | Raleigh, N.C. Sept. 2d 1868. Submits the names of the Officers for the Colored School to be started in Raleigh. Compares it with the School of the Revt. Mr. Miller at Charlotte. Refers to the matters of State Aid, which he thinks is certain to meet with bitter opposition and says the Colored Preachers will be the Teachers & also the support of the School for years to come &c.
