[[preprinted]] 8 [[/preprinted]] Oct. 12, 1897. X 3862 1 [[superscript]] 3 [[/superscript]] Sirius Hyd. series seen clearly as far as H omicron, and dimly as far as H rho. K line almost burned out by over-exposure. X 3968 1 [[superscript]] 5 [[/superscript]] Sirius Cover marked, "K line double" It looks double, but is probably due to focus. X 3872 1 [[superscript]] 4 [[/superscript]] alpha Argus. K = H = 2 H delta Very wide spectrum. [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] 9 [[/preprinted]] [[underline]] Oct. 1 [[strikethrough]] 2 [[/strikethrough]] 3, 1897. [[/underline]] [[margin]] A.G.C. 8133 [[/margin]] X 5460 1 [[superscript]] 4 [[/superscript]] A Carinae K is very faint, certainly not as strong as in Sirius. Focus poor. 4026.4 not seen. 4481.4 = (2) 4471.8 No other lines seen except the hydrogen. The spectrum is probably like Sirius. [[margin]] A.G.C. 8034 [[/margin]] Like zeta Tucanae [[margin]] " " 8085 [[/margin]] A second type star, but the image is too faint to classify. Like alpha Bootis? [[margin]] A.G.C. 10678 [[/margin]] X 7407 1 [[superscript]] 4 [[/superscript]] D Carinae The line between 4144.0 and 4120.5 which is double in tau [[subscript]] 9 [[/subscript]] Erid. is here faintly seen. I have not observed this line in a typical B2A or B3A star. In other respects this spectrum resembles a B3A star. [[margin]] " " 1077 [[strikethrough]] 1 [[/strikethrough]] 9 [[/margin]] Too faint & partly off the plate
