ALUMNI [[image: black & white photograph of Ella B. Brown]] GREETINGS Warm and sincere greetings to all graduates and friends of City Hospital #2 Training School for Nurses and Homer G. Phillips Hospital School of Nursing. It is our hope that this Yearbook will serve as a lasting commemoration to all of our graduates, who have made and are continuing to make outstanding contributions in all fields of nursing, throughout the United States and in various foreign countries. The Alumni will continue to exist as long as there is one, of the 1,036 graduates, of our dearly beloved school alive. The Alumni will still actively endeavor to carry out its aim, of seeking the membership of all graduates of the school, as well as to create continued interest in the improvement of the nursing profession. We feel a twinge of sadness as, after 49 years, the doors of a very fine educational institution close; but, we look up with gladness when we reflect on the heritage of the new St. Louis Municipal School of Nursing. HGPSN, just as others have done, must move on and out, to make way for change and progress. A little work, a little play To keep us going-- and so, good-day A little warmth, a little light Of love's bestowing-- and so, good-night! A little fun, to match the sorrow Of each day's growing-- and so, good-morrow! A little trust that when we die We reap our sowing! And so--good-bye! Ella B. Brown, R.N.
