exhibition, 9 for exchange. [[blue check mark]] [[underline]] D.N. Couch, Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut._[[/underline]] A large copper spear-head with broad straight base, found in the drift of the valley of the Norwalk River. [[image: sketch of spear-head]] 1/2 This specimen is of great interest on account of showing not only the lamination produced by beating a piece of native copper, but also, on one side, the ridges and other projections which have wrongly been considered as resulting from the process of smelting. [[blue check mark]] [[underline]] W.M. Linney, Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky._[[/underline]] A cast of a flint cutter, the original from [[blue underline]] Central Kentucky [[/blue underline]], a cast of large flat-sided grooved axe, the original found in [[blue underline]] Indiana [[/blue underline]], and a cast of a discoidal stone of unusual size (nearly 7 1/2 inches in diameter), the original from [[blue underline]] Eastern Tennessee [[/blue underline]]. The casts were taken in the National Museum. [[blue check mark]] [[underline]] A.E. Douglass, New York._[[/underline]] A cast of a large pipe of greenish steatitic material, not unlike serpentine. It presents the form of a tub surmounted by the figure of a duck. Found in a mound at Ashland, Boyd County, [[blue underline]] Kentucky [[/blue underline]]. This very fine specimen is described and figured in Dr. Hamy's [[underline]] Revue d'Ethnographie [[/underline]], Vol III, p. 60 etc. The original was returned to Mr. Douglass. [[blue check mark]] [[underline]] J.M. Shields, Jemez, Bernalillo County, New Mexico._[[/underline]] A
