D. persimilis ♂, ant. 25. D. pubescens 2♀♀ not mtd. - a queer place to take this species Chaenon anceps ♂, swept in swampy place. Chalcids 2: not mtd. Cynipid 1 minute specimen!. not mtd. A nice morning, after some rain during night & slight skiffs during 16th-17th; much warmer than the last four days. Left home at 10.20 & drove to The Devil's Glen, Co. WI., arriving about 11.45 (George, Daisy, Marcus Graham, & I.) Started collecting as soon as left car but vegetation rather wet after a shower in night or early morning: very warm, some sun & promise of a lovely day. But at 1 P.M. a slight shower heralded a jam & then heavy rain for an hour, then fine for a few minutes & then more rain, drip & more rain. So left at 3 P.M. & home 4.15. Rain most of the way & Dublin as wet as Devil's Glen — a most disappointing day! Devil's Glen, Co. WI. [57 labelled 1 Dec. 1960! AWS.] Vespa austriaca ♀. V. rufa & norvegica, 1☿ each. Bethylus fuscicornis 1 (Graham). Dryinid ♂ = Large Dryinid ♀ = C. infectus Walker. Ichneumon molitorius ♀, black and white; ant. 41. Cratichneumon cf. annulator 2♀♀; ♂♂ common: none mtd. Cryptinids 18: 7 mtd. = Pezomachus sp. 1♂ (ant.24), 2♀♀ (ant. 18 & 19). Hemiteles? sp. ♀, ant. 24. Phygadeuonids: ♂ (ant. 24); ♀ (ant. 24); ♀ (ant. 26).
