[[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]]13[[/preprinted]] May 30, 1905 The Small Magellanic Cloud New Clusters The measures on pages 10-12 were made with the new 1 1/2 eye-piece, which gives much less aberration than the one previously used. Hence measures are, or ought to be, much better. Beginning on page ten, the north and following sides of the lines of the reticule were always measured. Previously to that, the north and preceding sides were measured. A correction, therefore of -0.15 is to be applied to readings in A and ^[of +0.15 to C] as the lines of the reticule are almost about 0.15 ^[of a scale division] thick. The measures on page 8, however, are to have this correction applied only to [[strikethrough]] B [[/strikethrough]] C, as measures of A were by mistake taken from the following side. See note at the bottom of page 8. In all cases, A and B are measured on all objects through a pages. Then, beginning over again, C and D are measured. [[drawing of square]] In cases where reductions of observations previous to page 10 have already been made, the correction may be applied directly to the result by subtracting 3" from the reading in x' i.e., on pp 4 and 5
Notes on Transcribing this page (optional)
A+C B+D A-C B-D columns appear to be separate but information input appears to be A+C | B+D +/- A-C +/- B-D Could be A+CB+DA-CB-D? I think A+C etc is more likely.
