May 20 II Pair A. Male, above, with head to ground, giving male FC, "oooooah" "oooooah", etc, female lands, gives U,T, pecks at male's bill; male into U, pecks female; female flies off. 2:10 [[image]] Angle of OL OH. Another pair. One joins other. OL-U with T. Placed in U. Female T's neutral times. Then male [[bends?]] down, in a position very much like the OL position but which is really, I think, the regurgitation posture. Female begins to peck frantically at male's bill. Things get confused rapidly from then on. Male does, at least, one O, one U, reveal T's, in interval of bending down. Female does, at least, reveal walks around in U, in the interval of her begging bouts. Male flies off, circles, [[??]] Long Call Notes, but no other sign of aggressiveness. he [[pans?]] overhead, female, who has surveyed on station, does U-T [[scribbles underneath the previous two letters]] at him. Next time, as he returns, she just stands in U, head pointed away from him, as he lands. More M.C. of U + [[??]]. More feeding, or [[??]] feeding, & legging. Then male flies up hurriedly, with attack call. Flies up so hurriedly that he [[joiltes??]] the female. She flies away male, apparently without noticing her departure, begins To attack [[really?]] [[cool??]]. This aerial attack is [[?]], I have never seen before. Constant attack notes as he swoops down, with beating wings, and there continue, as he swoops up still with beating wings. (still to wings is underlined). This repeated again & again: swoop (attack call increasing in intensity & frequency), swoop up (attack call slightly decreasing), wheel turn (attack call at its lowest intensity), swoops (attack call increasing) etc. etc. There male flies away, out of sight. 2:40. [image of bird head and neck] OL-T, O, OL, O OL, O OL U O OL O O OL Head shape during some U.
