Dear Germain:

A supplemental note to mine of yesterday: I knew the state of mind that Lefebvre was in all during his trip to Geneva and here, with delays, bad accomodations and sleepless nights as staedy ^[[handwritten mark to indicate reversal of ae to ea]] diet. And of course, his interest is not the same as ours, and time lost from his small business is very serious to him. The enclosed Express letter received this a.m. called for an answer, and I have used the answer to soften his hurt feelings and at the same time to remind him of the oft-repeated instructions which I have read to him from your letters and the Bemo memorandum.

You can imagine my feelings not to have the Consular Invoice in duplicate with me, with other copies to go by air direct to you as arranged. But everything has to be put off to "Friday" in this circus of ours, with the result that if the Invoices arent in by Friday Morning, nothing can be done until Monday. Hence, with the fatal missing of the Train Bleu, the plan to be at the Embassy by Friday noon with my Invoice for certification was defeated. It is not like L-F to be mis-lead by trains, so I can only put this down to sheer fatigue.

I want this to arrive New York on Monday if possible so will stop and post it.
