Dear Sir Cunningham,
Many thanks for your letter dated 14th January. At the moment I am in Switzerland where I intend to stay until Easter.
Your question about the little plume on the képi is allright and I am glad that you asked me for this information. Please, have a look at the books:

1.) Museo del Prado, Catalogo Ilustrado de la Exposicion de Pinturas de Goya, 1928, Nr.58 D. Pantaleon Pérez de Nenin, page 60

where You find the description "Plume on the Képi". In the same book you also find the reproduction No. XLVII with the "Plume of the Képi".

2.) In the book of Goya par Xavier Desparmet Fitz-Grald, Paris 1952 there it is also descriped the plume of the képi.

Now you can see how people writes books, without having seen the pictures, without sense for art.

You can be sure, that this picture is authentic an unique G o y a: D.Pantaleon Pérez de Nenin.

Awaiting your answer as soon as possible, I remain

Sincerely yours
