Dear Germaine:

I have had word from Mr. Doll, who in fact read me the nice letter of introduction to Porter & Porter....and am now sitting waiting for the postman to deliver me the copy thereof which he promised to mail me two days ago, so that I may send it on before taking my hard-gotten reservation to Glens Falls. These Friday seats to the Adirondacks are all taken long in advance...I am fortunate to be able to get aboard....the alternative, train and bus, being a bit sticky these hot days....85 and thereabouts.

I have secured from a Washington friend, the address of Mrs. Breck Long's daughter in Chevy Chase, Md., and my friend, Mrs. Houghteling has dropped her a note to say that she may be hearing from me, old friends, etc etc. I'll give a day to allow Laura's note to arrive and be read....then write. The report from Mrs. H. is that the house is stuffed with American Glass.... but that there are other collected items of which she has no information.

I will post this in any event, and send Porter introduction copy, with a copy of my letter to Porter & Porter, separately as I want you to know that sooner or later, it will be coming.

All best wishes for your health and spirits,

Sincerely,
^[[John]]
