Saturday afternoon: March 22., 1958.

Dear Germain:

Your nightletter received and I am glad that you and Mell approved of the reconstructed release. I have not yet had word from van Heesch but am in hopes that I will on my return here Monday night. He was very hopeful that the Duke would make no protests, as apparently it had been settled beforehand that he would release on the basis of the presently held items.

AMADEO: I have written you further re this item but am glad you can get access to the Catalogue as indicated.

SEMCESEN: I have just had a two hour visit from him and am sending separately the letter which I typed, together with photos and data. He cannot be in Switzerland before April 15th as stated. He say the TIEPOLO is a lovely picture, colors rose, yellow, etc. The owner is a bit difficult but the picture is for sale and at the price mentioned. The TITIAN looks a wonderful picture, even though it is one of three and is recognized as the best version.

I must now run for the Air Terminal as time is all too short. I am arriving at Edinburgh at 7 p.m. where Lord Geddes' car will meet me at the airport and I will spend the night and part of Sunday with them. Then I will with luck, see Roseberry in his company. Monday morning I will be in Glasgow and expect to see the Pollok House pictures with Mr. Grant. I am trying to contact Ellesmere in the interim and hope to be able to talk with him re Poussin, etc.

I will get your airmail on my return and am anxious to know what you have written.

Sincerely yours,
