January 11, 1972 Dear John; What a shock it was to learn that you were in the hospital with a broken arm. It was no doubt in your subconscious to show your sympathy with my own accident. And though I do appreciate your gesture of commiseration, if I may say so, I am greatly distressed to know of your suffering. As you realize, the purpose of our call was to wish you a happy New Year, and it is not too late to wish you one, even though its beginning is a gloomy one for you. We hope that ere long you will be able to resume your activities, and Ethlyne joins me in sending you our affectionate thoughts. Yours, Germain Seligman Mr John C.
