New York 22, New York

January 14, 1966

Dear John:

Many, many thanks for your thoughtfulness which reminds me, of course, of our struggles with His famous Highness!

But Howmextremely distressed I am to hear of your severe bout of sciatica. There is only one redeeming feature about it - if I may say so - it is that it kept you away from the New York mess - for a mess indeed it was.

Your lines reached me just in time for, within a few hours, I will be off to Europe for a couple of weeks, and upon my return I do count on seeing you fit, over all your miseries, and in your usual fine shape.

Yours as ever,

Germain Seligman
