MUSEO DE ARTE DE PONCE
(THE LUIS A FERRÉ FOUNDATION)
APARTADO 1492
PONCE, PUERTO RICO

LUIS A. FERRÉ
PRESIDENTE

Mr. John J. Cunningham,
111 East Sixty Fifth Street,
New York 21, N.Y.

June 9, 1964

Dear Mr. Cunningham:

Very many thanks for your letter of June 5. Mr Ferré is at present in Washington for the first status commission meetings and will probably not be back for another week or more. He will, however, probably be in New York within the next few days.

With regard to the painting by Bermejo, I have written to Dr. Held, suggesting that he get into touch with you. However, I would like to make it clear from the very outset that we are presently building a new museum at a cost of over one and a half million dollars and this leaves very little margin for the acquisition of new paintings at this time. On the other hand, a painting by Bermejo would certainly be a welcome addition, as our collection of Spanish primitives leaves much to be desired.

Sincerely yours,
