Dear Mr. Seligmann,
Thank you very much for your letter of October 14th, and I beg to say that I have arranged for the two Prints and the Stone Group to be re-offered in good sales before Christmas, and I will forward settlement for these Lots in due course to Messrs. N.M. Rothschild's Bank for the credit of Mr. John M. Schiff's account with them.

If you would be kind enough, as you suggest in your letter, to have the Tapestries left with me until the end of the year, I will do my utmost to find a purchaser at a satisfactory price. I have had no further communication with Messrs. French & Co. on the subject, but will return to the negotiations with my private client in a little while. I think that it would be wise to let matters settle down a little before I approach him again, as the recent crisis has left everyone in business circles in this country somewhat diffident and a little
