21st January, 1964.

Dear Mr. Seligman,

On Saturday afternoon I saw Mrs. Herbert Straus, who showed me her wonderful collection of drawings, most of which she told me had come either through your firm or through yourself personally.

She mentioned to me that she had quite a lot of French 18th century furniture in store, and asked me my honest opinion as to the best place to sell it. I told her what I believe to be true, that for the finest examples there would be no better market than London. I do not know how serious she was, but I tell you this in case she mentions the matter to you.

I enjoyed our chat and seeing you very much.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
