Dear Roland:

It is only upon my return from Europe last night, that I learned with deep grief of the sudden demise of my friend Carl.

The art world too has sufferred a great loss with the passing away of this great gentleman and connoisseur.

Would you be good enough to convey my sincerest condole^[[/]]nces to Mrs. C. R. Henschel and to you, Coe Kerr and Carman Messmore my expression of heartfelt sympathies.

Faithfully yours,

Germain Seligman
