"Christopher Columbus" - an opera-oratorio in two parts by [[underlined]]Darius Milhaud,[[/underlined]] libretto by [[underlined]]Paul Claudel[[/underlined]].  The Narrator reads from The Book of Christopher Columbus,certain passages of which will be materialized by the soloists and chorus.  November 6th, 7th and 8th at 8:30 p.m. and November 9ht at 2:30 p.m.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra, [[underlined]]Charles Munch[[/underlined]] conducting; piano soloist: [[underlined]]Nicole Henriot.[[/underlined]]  November 12th at 8:45 p.m.

The Boston Symphony presents a series of concerts on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons throughout November, December, January, February and March, under the musical direction of Charles Munch.  [[underlined]]Pierre Monteux[[/underlined]] will conduct two of these concerts.

The Philadelphia Orchestra, [[underlined]]Eugene Ormandy[[/underlined]] conducting, presents "Jeanne d'Arc au Bucher" by Honegger.  November 18th at 8:30 p.m.

[[underlined]]Lelia Gousseau,[[/underlined]] pianist, will appear as soloist with the New York Philharmonic, Dimitri Mitropoulos conducting.  On December 4th at 8:45 p.m.  the program includes Cesar Franck's Symphonic Variations for piano and orchestra.

On December 5th and 7th at 2:30 p.m. Miss Gousseau is featured in the St. Saens Piano Concerto no. 4 in C minor.

Sunday afternoon concerts: [[underlined]]Pierre Fournier[[/underlined]] - cello recital.  November 30th at 2:55 p.m.

[[underlined]]TOWN HALL[[/underlined]] - 113 West 43rd Street

"Le Devin du Village" (the first French Opera Buffa), music and text by Jean Jacques Rousseau, presented by the American Chamber Opera Society under the auspices of the New Friends of Music.  November 9th at 5:30 p.m.

[[underlined]]Paul Tortelier,[[/underlined]] cellist, will appear as guest soloist with the Little Orchestra Society.  November 24th at 8:30 p.m.

[[underlined]]Darius Milhaud[[/underlined]] will conduct a concert of his own compositions.  Madeleine Milhaud also appears on the program.  (New Friends of Music).  December 14th at 5:30 p.m.
