This report is required by law.  The Acts of June 19, 1948 and June 18, 1929 make it the duty of business proprietors, or persons in charge, to furnish the required information on Census forms. Section  28 (10) of the 15th Decennial Census Act (46 Stat. 21) is reproduced on the back of this letter for your information. The same law provides for confidential treatment of reports made to the Bureau of the Census.
