Dear Mrs. Seligmann:

At a recent meeting of the Commissioner's Art Advisory Panel, the members of which are identified on the enclosed list, it was suggested that we contact you for needed information in the review of a taxpayer's appraisal on a 27" x 35" painting by Laurent De LaHyre entitled, "The Finding of Moses." The panelists indicated that you may have sales records reasonably near to the June 1970 valuation date for this work. The subject painting, which is said to be in excellent condition, depicts the title scene in a setting of classical grandeur. The work was contributed to the Detroit Institute of Arts.

A self-addressed envelope is enclosed for your reply which will be most appreciated.

Sincerely,
