Maloney we get what typewriting we need done.

The Smithsonian is going to have in February an exhibit somewhat after the idea of that of the Carnegie Institution. Each division is to have an exhibit setting forth some phase of the work. I am going to use the foramimipra as illustrating the economic and practical value of purely scientific work. A lot of prospective victims are to be invited and put into a good humor by a good luncheon and then squeezed to make them disgorge money for the endowment. I hope it works, but I very much doubt it. It seems very strange to me that no one ever seems to want to give money to the S.I. What is wrong? There must be a good reason.

Washington has just about finished the lower floor of the stack and I hope soon to get him started on the upper floor. As I believe I told you Mr. Ravenel let us have 3 men for a week. With Maloney's help they got through the sponges and a part of the Hydroids. It did not seem much but they worked well which only goes to show how badly the collection needed attention.

Well I think I have told you all the news I can think of so will choke this off.

I hope you are having a great time and getting lots of fine things. Hope you will get a lot of Amphipods at Punta Arenas as almost nothing has been done there.

Take good care of yourself and don't work too hard.

Clarence
