[[underline]]FOR PRIZE CONTEST.[[/underline]]

Omaha,Nebraska, August 8, 1924.

W.Atlee Burpee Co.,
Philadelphia, Pa.

Gentlemen:

For thirty years I have raised flowers and vegetables. This is my recreation and not my business, yet there is always a demand for quality products and the surplus from my garden finds a profitable market.

Early maturity, choice products and abundant crops are my hobby. Each year I dedicate a corner of my garden to new varieties and new seedsmen. In this manner fifteen years ago I found Burpee. Being an optimist have continued experiments, hoping to find a seedsman more reliable than Burpee.

Burpee gave me Blue Bantam peas in 1909 and Philadelphia lima beans in 1924. In the intervening years every outstanding introduction in my garden has been supplied by Burpee.

Burpee seeds have invariably rewarded me with bumper crops of high quality. Always have my expectations been justified and the Burpee promise fulfilled. Never has the label on a packet been misleading.

Burpee seeds have convinced my wife and family and neighbors that I am a second Burbank, much to my secret satisfaction.

Burpee seeds have aided in restoring my health. They have been instrumental in bringing many congenial friends. Their products have filled my heart with peace and charity, my soul with pride and contentment.

Truly yours,
