What Burpee's Seeds Have Done for Me.

When I first met Burpee's Seeds my digestion was gone; my nerves shattered, my sleep a lost art, my ambition forgotten and my hope sunk to the lowest ebb. Worse yet: I was under sentence of death with less than six months more of life promised to me.  In some way a copy of Burpee's Annual came to my hands and, after reading it throughly, I sent for some seeds, and turned half heartedly toward my garden.  The spading, raking, etc were hard and my hands were soft; and, if I had any real expectation of being benefitted by ^[[that]] work, I do not recall it now, But with the appearance of the first Early Way-ahead,-Brittle wax,- and Columbia beet seedlings my interest was aroused.  I was to learn later how deep this interest was and how completely it was to absorb my previous trend of thoughts which was anything but reassuring.

So I saw now that Burpee's Seeds have done very much for me.  That was about eleven years ago, and the direction in which they turned me led me to renewed health, re-awakened hope and ambition and a longer lease on life.  Even more!  That very incursion taught me the deep relationship between sunshine and air, moisture and the winds, soil and its adjuncts, and led me logically into a more intimate understanding of the earth and
