added to my land. My sales of garden flowers  grow yearly. When I retire I (I am sixty-two), I shall have a good little business to occupy hand and mind.

The outdoor work has been my salvation healthwise. Without it, I should have been a wreck; with it, I have attained a position of some educational importance.

Had I been obliged to depend spiritually upon the words of men, my experiences might have made me very bitter; in my garden I am [[strikethrough]] in sympathy [[/strikethgrough]] ^[[at one]] with Nature and the Soul of Nature. As I watch the unfolding miracles, my heart keeps singing, "Working with God, working with God," and the song carries over into my real life work.
