First year was discouraging, the seeds bought in stores were misrepresented. Fortunately the following season, I obtained a Burpee's catalogue, first one I had ever seen. I ordered seeds which proved to be as represented, Soon a trade for vegetables was built up, as mine were tender, crisp and ^[[were]] much in demand.

I saved money from my income, attended Normal School in winter, gardened in summer, became a teacher.

Burpees seeds have made me what I am mentaly, the outdoor life strengthened me physical, moraly, helped me to understand, and love nature. My financial gain has helped the family
