What Burpee's Seeds have done for Me.

One of our luxurious summer vegetable dinners furnishes proof of what Burpee's seeds have done for us. They have given me and mine out three most perfect vegetables.

There is the platter of [[underline]]Burpee's Catawba Corn[[/underline]]. With it's large, deep, extremely sweet kernels, tender at an age when most corn is tough, it is absolutely the tenderest, best-flavored corn we know.

For salad there are slices of [[underline]]Burpee's Dwarf Giant Tomato[[/underline]]. One thick, sweet, meaty and almost seedless slice from the middle covers a small plate.

A steaming dish of [[underline]]Burpee's[[/underline]] tender [[underline]]Stringless Green Pod Beans[[/underline]] completes the list of our three favorite vegetables, all introduced by Burpee.

Burpee's seeds have given me happy memories, anticipation and vision. We always had Burpee's catalog, and when I was small the arrival of a box of Burpee's seeds was like a gift from the Color Fairies.

Every year I revel in anticipation, knowing that realization will follow from good seeds.

Starting with experiments with Burpee's extra early sweet pea seed, my eyes have been opened to the extreme value of planting [[underline]]early[[/underline]] varieties of seed. One gains days and weeks by the use of Burpee's re-selected early seeds.
