Dear Burpee Co:-

Tho I cannot hope to win a prize, I want to express my appreciation of what you have done for me. We live on a  farm a mile from the neighbors and I am much alone. As I lived in a town before my marriage, idle hours hang heavily on my hands.

Last winter, after seeing your catalogue, I decided gardening would help to banish the blues and I ordered seeds at once. Naturally, I knew nothing of gardening; but while waiting for spring I read the Annual from cover to cover and received many helpful hints from it.

Despite the unfavorable weather after planting, my garden grew nicely and we have an abundance of healthful vegetables. The seeds I purchased from you
