FOR PRIZE CONTEST

7911 Detroit Ave.,
Cleveland, Ohio. Aug. 10, 24

W. Atlee Burpee Co.,
Philadelphia, Pa.

Dear Sirs:

You will be suprised to learn what Burpee's seeds have done for me. They have given me a husband! At least a fiance, he'll be my husband soon. And he is hot a Sweet William or a Johnny-jump-up either, but an honest-to-goodness, flesh and blood Jim.

This is how it came about. I have always had a garden and it has always been my pride, but a few years ago my efforts drew the attention of my friends. Before that I had planted [[underline]]seeds[[underline]] --- then I planted [[underline]]Burpee's[[underline]] seeds. Everything grew, everything flourished and I won the reputation of having a beautiful garden.

Two years ago Jim moved into an apartment next our home. I discovered that he, too, 'loved to dig' and when one wants a garden, a flower-box with ready grown petunias is very inadequate. What more natural then that we should both work in my garden? What more natural than that two young people interested in the same hobby should become interested in each other?

With grateful cosmos and anemones to bank the altar, we will soon exchange promises of unending friendship that started in the garden made beautiful with Burpee's seeds.

Sincerely yours,
