Dear Mr. Pollen:

From information just received I understand that you intend holding the sale of the Melvin Gutman collection of antique jewelry some time in March.

In view of the fact that I do not expect to be in town during the greater part of March I am wondering whether it would be possible for me to examine these jewels in the course of the coming two or three weeks.

Your answer in this respect would be much appreciated.

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
